I’ll get back to blogging regularly again this week, but in the meantime, a good place to turn to think more deeply about community is anything written by Henri Nouwen. So without further ado, here’s today’s sabbath meditation.
We might even say that only in God does our neighbor become a neighbor rather than an infringement upon our autonomy, and that only in and through God does service become possible. (from Nouwen’s The Living Reminder, p. 31)
Today is the end of a long and tiring weekend for me, having trekked some far distances to spend time at an important family event, so at the moment, I don’t have the energy to unpack this. I am, however, happy to respond to your thoughts.
